Who is Jason Powell?

My name is Jason Powell, I am a sophmore here at UMBC. I am on the track team, I am a sprinter I run the 200 and 400 meter dashes as well as relays. I choose UMBC over schools such as Temple, Delaware State, and Hampton. I chose UMBC because it has a a good campus and as a honors college it just seemed like it would better me and my future. I came to this class because I am undecided on a major and thought that taking this class would help me decide if I wanted to major in Media and Communications. By taking this class, I want to learn alot more about the media and how it works. By ganing a college degree, i feel i would better the chances of getting a good job and allow me to get where I want to be in life.

Jason, I think this class should definitely give you a good idea of whether or not Media and Communication Studies is the right major for you. You said that you hope UMBC will get you where you want to be in life. Do you have any idea where that is? Anyway, thanks for sharing about yourself.

I hope that you find out where you are going with you're major. Communications and media is a big part of society and hopefully, if it's right for you, you can contribute in a thoughtful manner. All the best.

Hey Jason,
I decided to be a communication and media studies major because it has so much to offer and can lead you into various fields. I hope that by you taking this class it will help you to decide whether or not communications is something you you would consider. Best of luck to you with track this year! See you around!

Hey Jason,
I went to ERHS class of 2007! Yeah it is great to know that there are Roosevelt guys around haha. Well man you have to give me the inside scoop of the loop. And I hope you do find the major for you, and I empathize with you, for as I have just started college, it seems like a daunting task and a large amount of commitment to find a major. See you in Class.
George.

Jason, I am glad we have another class together this year. Spanish was a lot of fun. I hope you did well. If you are taking 201 any time soon let me know. I am pretty good in Spanish and I am also studying abroad in Chile this winter so hopefully I will get a littler better. Hope your summer was wonderful! I am a media and communications major so if you have any questions about it let me know. It isn't that hard, but you need to have an intership to graduate with it as your major and with track I don't know how busy your schedule is, but just let me know!

Wow! You chose UMBC over places like Delaware State and Temple? I didn't know we were in competition with places like that. Maryland, maybe. But not us here at UMBC!

Before comign to UMBC, one of the things I wanted to do was to apply at a ew big name schools like Temple and others just to see if I could get in. You know? To tell people - "Well, I go into so and so!" Well that never happened ha.
